8. IOTA (MIOTA) Founder Introduction
In December 1995, Dominik Schiener was born in in South Tyrol, Northern Italy to a cook and a bricklayer. He was so good in computers at an early age that he was able to hack some of the world's top computers games for example, “Call of Duty”. Dominik earned good money as a young teenager selling computer game mods that he succeeded in hacking and became a millionaire while only 17 years old.
He became fascinated with bitcoin and the blockchain technology in 2012, started bitcoin mining and became an activist advocating blockchain development to solve problems instead of developing to become rich. He met Sergey Ivancheglo, David Sonstebo and Serguei Popov in 2013, and together they co-found IOTA (Internet of Things Application), an open-source distributed ledger that provides secure communications and payments between machines on the IoT or Internet of Things, with the team's headquarters in Berlin.
